Eyes on Owls
Owls talk at February 1st meeting was a real hoot!
The Shawsheen River Watershed Association and Eyes On Owls presented "Who's Watching You? Owls of New England" on Thursday, Feb. 1 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Tewksbury Public Library. This was a live owl program. Naturalist Marcia Wilson shared her passion for owls. These secretive birds are specially adapted for living in some of New England's most diverse environments. We learned how to find owls without disturbing them. We were allowed to get close to several live owls.. and we learned owl calls in a hooting lesson. Admission was free but space was limited as you can see. Actually, this was our biggest meeting ever by about ten fold. Many thanks to Marcia and Mark Wilson for their time and effort, but especially for being the type of "special people" who help care for earth's creatures who cannot always take care of themselves.
