Trillium
"Stinking Benjamin"
Three leaves, three green sepals, three colored petals, and (surrounded by six stamans) a three chambered pistil topped by three spreading stigmas... the unmistakable marks of the trilliums, whose name comes from the latin for "three". The foul smelling maroon petals give this type its common name, "Stinking Benjamin".
