Birds along the Shawsheen

In late Fall, a cardinal braces for the long winter.  In late Summer, a goldfinch dines on thistle. In late Winter, a cedar waxwing seeks ripe berries in the multiflora rose bushes along the riverbank. In early Fall, a sharp-shinned hawk rests briefly while hunting pigeons and sparrows near the old mills.
