Red Hill 2030'
3.4 Miles 1350' Elevation gain
Kevin Judy and Emma
Continuing our trend of small easy hikes this winter we climbed to the fire tower on Red Hill in Moultonborough. To get to this summit we climbed the Red Hill Trail, rising 1350' over 1.7 miles. This was a very easy climb and we were at the summit in what seemed a very short time. Again we had picked a very cold day to climb and didn't spend a lot of time on the summit. from the fire tower there were good views of Lake Winnepesaukee to the south and Squam Lake to the west. Snow squalls again blew around us and made it difficult to see beyond a few miles, so it is hard to say what can be seen from here. The Ossipee Range lies a few miles to the east of this hill, but was invisible in the surrounding squalls. Another nice, short winter hike, without driving all the way up to the mountains.
